Chairs: Antique & Unique On this table is a group of miniatures…. all scale models of Windsor type chairs collected at garage sales and other venues to satisfy their owner’s obsession for Teddy Bears. They are a testament to the enduring attraction of an American chair type and… more importantly… they provide seating for a valued collection of little bears who might otherwise have to remain standing!
These examples demonstrate three traditional forms: sack back rocker (with the arched back rail), comb back, and a variant that incorporates a writing desk. Distinctive characteristics of the Windsor type were faithfully captured in these scaled miniatures, including the wide splayed legs and delicate spindles, all anchored into a sturdy plank seats. Lucky bears!
